Investigating immersion in live music performance

The aim of my research is to identify strategies that improve audience immersion in live music performance - a medium that remains largely undefined. My work attempts to evaluate how the combination of the performance space, musical style and delivery methods, can improve audience immersion. The methodology relies on collecting data from participants during musical events of original material tailored to specific spatial environments. This process allows us to better understand how audience perception is impacted by the musical and spatial characteristics applied.
